Cindy -Episode 75- shower guest

02.01.2017 (German date)

I must say, it wasn’t the best idea to leave the bathroom window open all night. When I entered the bathroom to have a nice soothing hot shower, it was already full up. I know, that we live quite high up in the north, but I didn’t expect a shower guest like him enjoying a bubble bath produced by Cindys latest aquirement.

Cindy -Episode 74- New years surprise

In the next few days I will take you back to the beginning of this year. Have fun with our flatshare diary from the last three and a half months.

This year I attend another year long class with Carla Sonheim. This years class is called 365 phew!. Every morning we get a creative inspiration to keep our art brain busy around the day. Perfect to keep us in our flatshare creative!

For the first story I take you back as far as to the third day of this year.

Cindy and I just came back from a short trip to the North Sea to find you all being busy with pink clouds and polar bears.
We had spent about a handful of greyish days at the amazing beach of St. Peter Ording in Northern Germany ( just for the locals around us, who might know where it is). It was as stormy, rainy, greyish, cold, dark and unpleasant as it can get around this time of the year. We experienced some of the days when you even cannot make out different shapes of clouds. You might know what I am talking of, if you are not one of the poor things suffering of the heat wave in Australia right now.
I have to admit that I got a bit depressed by the scene outside our apartment window. So sitting warm and cozy on the sofa was my first and only choice.
Cindy is a bit differrent from me as some of you might know by now. She was kind of immune to that kind of weather and was still in very good spirits ( after recovering from her bad cold) and started off to town for a stroll through the boutiques and fancy stores, St. Peter Ording had on offer.
You might call it a funny coincidence, but seeing Carlas video #1 today, I just couldn’t believe what I saw. Is Carla following Cindys life? Or why does Cindy so very often come up with ideas, which match Carlas prompts perfectly?

But let’s take one thing at a time. The day just had turned from dark grey into dark black, when the door bell rang. Why didn’t Cindy just use her key? I shuffeld to the door and opened it.

And there she was! Standing out there in the dark dark rain beaming. “Look, Petra, what I got from the shop in town. Isn’t it lovely, I couldn’t resist that fantastic offer. Take three get one free!!!!” She tried to manoeuver her leashed clouds into the hallway. “Cindy, you can’t be serious. The clouds stay outside”, I tried to take a firm line with her. But she had made her mind up already. The floor in the landing was soaking wet in a second.”I will keep them in the bathroom, Petra. Don’t worry.” She sliped into the bathroom and pegged them onto the towel radiator. “We have to keep the windows wide open and the heating down, Petra. The shop assistent had pointed out, that the clouds like it cool and fresh.” Cindy tore the window open and a torrent of cold wet rain poured into the bathroom.
She jumped back into the hallway and shut the bathroom door with a loud bang.

Well, I could bore you with more details of that evening, but you will have scrolled to the next post by now anyway.
Just a last picture for you:
Have you ever brushed your teeth standing under your umbrella in your own bathroom, while three pink clouds float right under the ceiling, the roaring wind pushing them around?

And thanks Carla for Eric Booths words. So good to know that I am not lunatic but only creative. ( I was wondering about it not only once last year, while writing down my adventures with Cindy).

Easter activities

Our flatmate got a ride on his way to work. So nice to have a helping hand in the neigborhood. My thanks go to Mrs. Bloomingdale.

She is one of our dear guerilla gardners, who occupy one of the greens at our junction around the corner. She was on her way to plant some more flowers before the kids start searching for the easter eggs tomorrow.

Happy Easter!

Cindy -Episode 73- a little help from a friend

Herma Starreveld, my dutch artist friend sent her Minimie over. She had lots of healthy food on offer,  beschuit with Dutch cheese and a big pot of energy tea.

You can find more of Hermas wonderful work on her website and in her etsyshop.

img_6787Cindy is much better off. She enjoys her dutch tea.

Look, how she comes back to life. Even her cheeks got red, what normally doesn’t happen very often. It won’t take long for total recovery.
Thanks, Herma.

Cindy -Episode 71- a cold disappointment

Sometimes it doesn’t take much to put a spoke in your wheel. The other night Cindy had been happily exercising for her Xmastree performance and today in the morning she stood there in the kitchendoor. She tried to speak, but her voice was just the very opposite of an angelical sweet hum. A coughing attack followed by a sneezing attack made clear, why this poor Christmas angel had changed into a creepy Halloween queen over night.

I offered her a cup of ginger lemon tea, I just had brewed. She sat down, sipped on her drink and started sniffing. I wasn’t sure, if the runny nose was responsible for it or more the disappointment about the cold thwarting her angel plans.
Next Sunday another angel will enchant the people on the Christmas market, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile we will have lots of pots of very hot gingerlemon tea to get our angel back in shape.

Cindy -Episode 70- better taste?

Did our XOXO angel change for the better?

Cindy got out another more angelic outfit. Maybe Valeries frogprincess comment was thought-provoking enough. Cindy scored a strike in our kitchen while circling the hoop around. The kitchen table was cleared after her performance.

The hula hoop exercise might be a challenge on the tree top. And it might leave the tree empty of nearly all his needles and decorations.

Cindy -Episode 69- XOXO Angel

Long time ago, that Cindy talked about building your body. But now as the year draws to a close, she is busily preparing and exercising for the starting holiday season.

Cindy was asked to become all Sundays in December the very first angel performing live bodywork exercises on the Christmas tree top at our nearby christmas market. I just wonder, why they picked her. She even wants to wear this christmassy but not very angellike suit.

What do you think? Should I try to convince her to pick another more decent robe?

Cindy-Episode 68- the chocolate cake

The upside down option didn’t work out well. So we had to change strategies. I sat down and googled for any convincing ideas. Maybe the good old chocolate therapy might help, I thought. There are loads of recipes in the net. I advanced the idea, that we could bake a chocolate cake for Gourmandinets welcome party. (By the way, we could also celebrate my hundredth post, hurrah.) I caught a glimpse of happiness on Cindys face.
She jumped up and got the baking ingredients out. It was a foolproof recipe. We managed to get it done quickly. It didn’t take long until a heady aroma spread all over the flat. The chocolate cake needed to cool down, before we could ice the cake with the chocolate icing.
I took advantage of the lovely autumn weather and went out for a run.
Well, no need of words to tell what had happened, as you can see, how I found Cindy sitting in the kitchen.
“Cindy, what’s going on here?”, I asked her. “Well, that was a piece of cake”, she answered”, “now we don’t have to bother about the icing any more.” Another cindiish  argument, you have to slug down, when you have a flatmate like her.

I will have to go to the bakery instead to get another cake for Gourmandinet. He let us know, that he will arrive tomorrow.
